God is smart. He’s smarter than fast processing computers, smarter than His angels, certainly smarter than a 5th grader….. So what does this make us? Dummies? Not really – it simply means our view point has its limitations. Comparably speaking, flying birds have a higher vantage point and get a wider aerial view than crawling ants do.
Case in point: like a little ant I feel this morning. Bill and I have been working the real estate market in hopes to find a permanent home, only to find out that this is easier said than done. While life doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense at times, suffice to say that in God’s eyes it always does. God’s bird eye perspective is bound to view things a little differently from us. Naturally, His thought process is above our heads, which can be very frustrating at times. Let’s be honest – God’s uncanny timing is challenging when we’re dealing with all sorts of delays testing our patience to the breaking point.
Have you ever thought of God being smart but disconnected – not unlike a genius with poor social skills? Well, let’s not forget that God’s Son walked among us when He lived in Israel. God is definitely no stranger to our pain. An engaged and passionate Holy Being, we always find a sympathetic ear when we cry out to Him. I’ve noticed this to be true especially during low points of my life.
We always have to remember that God is on our side – on the side of each one of His creation that is. God simply does not favor one creation over another. Throughout the ages, deep-seated jealousy has had a devastating effect causing friction and pain. God does not love human beings more than His angels (or vice versa), and He certainly does not distinguish between human tribes by preferring one tribe over another. God has a great big heart. Don’t you think His heart is big enough to embrace us all? I certainly think so. I believe there’s plenty of room in His heart for each one of us!
Going through life’s many battles, it is important to realize that God is for us, and He’ll help us especially when we cry out to Him. However, He’ll do it His way. We have to give Him that. We need to trust His bird’s eye perspective and hang in there when things are happening that we don’t understand. If things go wrong, we can find solace in the fact that God cares for us and always will.
May His peace enter our hearts and protect our sanity throughout our various trials. After all, we can rest assured that everything is going to be alright. Yes, everything is going to be OK. You can bet your bottom dollar on that!
Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be all right!
Rise up this mornin’,
Smiled with the risin’ sun,
Three little birds
Perch by my doorstep
Singin’ sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin’, “This is my message to you” Bob Marley
