Joshua 1:9: “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

There’s a first time for everything. And first times can be so scary! First time home buyers can tell stories about that. First time parents do too. Or do you remember your first day at a brand new school or your first day on a new job? The list goes on and on.

Whether you like it or not, life has always a new challenge for you around the next corner. The best way to meet challenges is to believe in a positive outcome. If you tend to be a worry wart, relax! The Lord your God is working behind the scene as we speak.

Have you ever noticed that God has His eye on the underdog? The Bible is full of examples. Take David and Goliath for instance – here comes Mr. Goliath, relying on his physical attributes and his killer weaponry. And how did his confidence pay off? We all know the story. David emerged as the champion and Mr. Goliath as the loser.

If God was a mechanic, He would be a Super Mechanic. If God was an architect He would be a Super Architect. We live in a complicated universe, and it runs smoothly because God pays attention – and each one of us plays a role. We all matter.

Trust in God’s vivid interest in your affairs. No vying for His attention is necessary because you’re already the apple of His eye. Here’s a secret: If you wait for God, He’ll come for you. As you walk out your door today, walk with God. Rely on Him as you navigate through life’s risks and perils. And guess what: The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go!

“If you wait for me
Then I’ll come for you
Although I’ve traveled far
I always hold a place for you in my heart”
